Scholars Portal Forum (31/01/2006)
The Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL) is pleased to announce a Scholars Portal Forum titled "Demonstrating Value and Creating Value: Evidenced-Based Library Management" on February 1, 2006 from 9am - 5:00pm at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Ontario. The forum is targeted for library staff from participating OCUL Libraries. At the forum participants will have opportunities to better understand the strengths of data from Scholars Portal to use in meaningful and powerful ways.
Guest Speakers include Martha Kyrillidou, ARL's (American Research Libraries) Director, Statistics & Measurement Program and Brinley Franklin, Vice Provost for University Libraries, University of Connecticut. Also speaking will be Alan Darnell, Manager, Scholarly Information Resources Project and members of the Scholars Portal team. In addition, Toni Olshen from York University who is the program coordinator and a key participant and contributor to the MINES survey will also be speaking.

Welcome to the new Scholars Portal Website, a site invented to promote the services and goals of Scholars Portal along with acting as a central point of departure from which to explore the services which are transforming research, teaching and learning.
Illumina Search (06/10/2005)
Known as Illumina Search the name will soon be changed to Scholars Portal Search. The search functionality will not merely search CSA (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts) databases but SAGE databases as well. Plans for summer 2005 include the roll-out of several more databases within Scholars Portal Search rendering this federated search even more powerful for researchers.
